On November 6th, my school held a school festival unlike I have yet to see in my teaching career. Due to the immense size of the school (roughly 950 students), the school was able to put on a 5 hours long theatre production ranging from traditional Korean drum to plays. Nearly all school staffs were involved. It only took about 3 weeks of practice and rehearsal for everything to come together. Truly impressive considering the teachers and students still had to make progress with the curriculum. I find that Korean elementary school student to be very vocal (very loud at times), and passionate. My Grade 3 students decided to sing about the English lessons they learned. I believe that these experiences are valuable for the students as it helps to fortify the students authentic learning. Overall, very well done!
